How Core-Solve works

Two ways to work

Structured Mode

Best when you want consistency, comparability or a clear record of how the decision was examined.

The seven core lenses

Different disciplines expose different weaknesses.

No single lens is treated as automatically decisive. Their value lies partly in where they agree and partly in where they do not.

Philosophy

Examines underlying assumptions, concepts, principles and the internal coherence of the position being considered.

Psychology

Tests motivation, cognitive bias, behaviour, emotional pressure and the limitations of individual judgement.

Systems Theory

Looks beyond the immediate event to relationships, feedback loops, dependencies and second-order effects.

Probability

Separates what is known from what is merely plausible and examines uncertainty, exposure and alternative outcomes.

Ethics

Considers duties, consequences, fairness, rights, harms, responsibilities and competing moral claims.

Sociocultural

Examines institutions, culture, social norms, power, stakeholder positions and the wider context that shapes choices and consequences.

Strategic Logic

Tests objectives, constraints, leverage, timing, trade-offs and how one decision may reshape the choices that follow.

The point is not simply to generate more text. A useful Core-Solve output should make the structure of the problem clearer than it was at the beginning.
